Bilingual Real Estate Agent in Goshen and Elkhart, Indiana
I'm Lisa Collio, a bilingual real estate agent with RE/MAX Results, The Viruez Team, helping buyers and sellers in Goshen and Elkhart, Indiana, in English or Spanish, whichever is more comfortable for you. 120+ homes sold, $20M+ in closed sales, top 20% of Elkhart County agents.
A Spanish-Speaking Realtor® Who Explains Every Step
I'm fluent in English and Spanish. I read, write, speak and think in both, and I can work professionally in either one. I grew up in Latin America, and Spanish is the language I grew up with. Part of my schooling was in English and part in Spanish. I studied at Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina, in Spanish, and earned a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from Bethel College, in English. I also completed a diploma program and earned a Master Teacher Certificate at Children's Ministries Institute®.
I text, call and email clients in either language. I explain the real estate process, the paperwork, offers and inspection information in English or Spanish, and I go with my clients to showings and to closing so they understand what is happening.
Some families use both languages. One spouse may prefer English and the other Spanish, or parents may prefer Spanish while their adult children prefer English. I make sure everyone involved understands, and I share private information only with the people my client approves.

A personal approach
I treat every client the way I would treat my own friends and family. I never want a buyer to feel rushed into choosing a house. They will open that front door every day, and I want them to feel confident about their decision for years. For sellers, I answer my phone, follow through on what I promise, and market the home to reach buyers.
When you hire me, you get me personally, not an assistant or a bot. I communicate with you, show homes, coordinate with the professionals involved and stay with you through the whole transaction. Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions many people make, and I take that seriously.
What to expect at the first meeting
Buyers usually meet me at my office. I have a presentation for first-time home buyers and another for people buying a home to renovate and resell, or to rent. Sellers usually meet me at their home, so I can see the property, its upgrades and anything that may need attention before it goes on the market. A first meeting usually takes about an hour. Afterward, I can send the information by text or email. You leave informed, with your questions answered and no pressure.
Three things that define how I work
- I answer. I return calls, texts and emails in a timely manner. Your questions matter.
- I answer well. I stay calm and professional, even when something is difficult or unexpected. I listen, ask questions, and do my homework so we can look at the options together.
- I do what I say I'm going to do. Trust is built through consistent actions, not promises.
Comparing Goshen and Elkhart
Where you live is always your decision. I don't steer buyers toward Goshen or Elkhart. I ask questions that help you name your own priorities, and if you are open to both cities, we search both and compare current listings and market information against what matters to you.
If you have school-age children, I can share resources so you can research schools yourself, and I encourage you to contact the school district directly about a specific address. For questions about safety or the condition of a specific property, I point buyers to official public resources, such as the local police department, public records and flood-zone maps, so they can research the home and the area themselves.
Knowing my role, and when to bring in an expert
I'm a real estate agent, not an attorney or a lender. Indiana transaction documents are prepared and signed in English. My role is to make sure you understand the process and the paperwork, coordinate the transaction, and help you find the right questions to ask. For the legal meaning of a contract, or your rights and obligations, I recommend an attorney. For loan options, qualifying, financing costs and loan terms, the lender is the right professional. Tax professionals, inspectors, contractors and insurance professionals answer questions in their own fields.
"Welcome to real estate!"
My broker taught me that phrase, and I remind myself of it when something becomes difficult or unexpected. A hurdle does not automatically mean the deal is over. I stay calm, research the situation, consult my managing brokers if needed, and explain the options. You make the final decision. Sometimes that means a buyer still gets the home they love; sometimes not moving forward is the right choice. Your questions never bother me. Helping you understand what's happening is exactly why I'm here.
When the Inspection Raises Questions
Imagine a first-time buyer who finally finds a home that feels right. Then the inspection raises concerns, unfamiliar terms appear in the paperwork, and the excitement turns into worry. We slow down and go through it step by step. I research what needs attention, bring in the right professionals and explain the options in the language the buyer is most comfortable with. Whether they move forward or choose differently, they understand their choices and don't feel alone. That is the part of this work that matters most to me.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy a house in Indiana if I don't speak English?
Yes. The documents are in English, and Lisa explains each step and document in Spanish before you sign.
Is a translator enough when you buy or sell a home?
A translator carries words. A licensed agent also explains the process, coordinates the transaction and tells you when a question needs an attorney.
How can I help my Spanish-speaking parents buy or sell a home?
Help with technology, rides and the practical work, and let your parents make the decision. Lisa speaks with them first, in Spanish.
Do I need to speak English to sell my house in Indiana?
No. Lisa explains pricing, offers and every document in Spanish and speaks in English with the buyer's agent.
Does Lisa Collio speak Spanish?
Yes, fluently. She works with clients in Spanish or English from the first meeting to closing.
